Requests for official Jefferson County records must go to the Louisville or Kentucky office that created or maintains them. The Jefferson Circuit Court Clerk handles filed cases, Louisville Metro Police Department holds most police reports, Louisville Metro Department of Corrections maintains booking information, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office covers its own warrant, process, and court-security records. This private site cannot retrieve records, but the routes below identify the correct custodian.

This Is Not a Government Office. Jefferson County Criminal History is privately run. We do not retrieve records, perform official checks, accept expungement papers, or alter government files. Only the responsible public office can provide those services.

Use the record type to choose the correct Jefferson County or Kentucky contact:

  • Fingerprint-supported Kentucky history: contact the Kentucky State Police Criminal Identification and Records Branch, Criminal Dissemination Section.

Jefferson County has no single sheriff records counter for all arrests. Start with the Circuit Court Clerk for judicial files, LMPD for its reports, LMDC for bookings, or JCSO for records created through the sheriff's own duties.
